President Barak Obama has signed into law HR 1321: Microbead-Free Waters Act of 2015. The Act was passed by the House and Senate on Dec. 18, 2015. The bill phases out the manufacture of facewash, toothpaste and shampoo containing plastic microbeads by July 1, 2017 and the sale of such beauty products by July 1, 2018.
